I get just as invested as the other seasons but I'm able to sit and enjoy it more casually. Season 3 is that middle point where most of our characters have had arcs, we get to see them use that growth to solve a huge problem, you've got Billy as the perfect antagonist to Eleven (with his performance matching David Harbour and MBB's), the body horror is next level. I can't just throw on S1 or S2 willy nilly, they are so heavy and significant to me that I have to put time aside to take them in. I love Season 3, it's a close second to Season 1 and by far the most fun to watch.

Erica gets a lot of hate here, so haters better buckle themselves up because Priah Ferguson was updated to a series regular. I think many users here on this sub will be severely disappointed season 4 if they think the show will not follow up on the massive success of season 3. For the majority of those, they enjoyed seasons 2 and 3, and let’s not forget how the latter broke Netflix records on its opening weekend and dominated social media with memes and theories for the next season. My parents are an example of this, and they grew up in the 80s. With Stranger Things, in my personal experience, I’ve tried getting people on the show since the beginning but some found it to be slow with the first season. You can also look outside of Netflix with shows like The Office, Friends, HIMYM, even ones like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead getting hated on. Outside of this show, popular shows like Bridgerton and Emily in Paris get heavily criticized on while flops like Santa Clarita Diet, The OA, and Teenage Bounty Hunters are praised like if they are the second coming of Christ. Also, Reddit is not reflective of the general consensus. Well you know what they say about the vocal minority, they’re very loud about it. I don’t think that this season could be rated as the best season, but I do believe that it isn’t as bad as some people make it out to be. We see that where they are building the machine is very low underground, enough underground to drown out any noise being made from what they are working on. A lot of people ask how nobody heard the machine being built, but it makes sense that nobody heard anything. The mayor was bribed into letting the Russians buy the land and build the mall to hide what they were working on. Obviously someone would’ve had to tell the Russians about the gate and I believe we’ll see who that is in season 4.

A lot of people seem to of had a problem with the Russian plot, but I think it makes perfect sense. I do think that the characters in the season didn’t feel exactly like themselves compared to other seasons, but I think the main reason for that is because the characters are growing and their personality’s are changing. I personally loved the season and would rate it right next to as good as season 1. I’ve been on this sub lately and have noticed that not many people on this sub seem to have enjoyed season 3.
